Philipp is a lively, although a bit hotheaded, squire. Living in Elpidapolis, the capital city of Stellalux, he daydreams of one day becoming a glorious knight. Ironically, he finds his squirely duties boring.
An orphan, Philipp is under the watchful eye of his knight, Sir Ronaldo, and uncle, Captain Astolpho Melee. Both of them hope to get Philipp see the folly in his dreams, so that when the time comes, he may become a warrior they can be proud of.
Amber Heartwood

Occupation: Apothecary
Likes: Flowers, tea, sewing & spinning, pretty things
Dislikes: Meanness, tight spaces, weeds, her brother being annoying
Amber is a sweet peasant living with her brother on their small farm. Her life may be simple, but she doesn’t mind; tending to her garden, mending clothes, and cooking are all a joy to her.
But it would be a lie to say she’s completely at peace. A mysterious book only her brother is allowed to read constantly piques her interest, and her mind is often occupied with the question, “What does the Book contain and why can’t I see it?”
Elfheah Canterbury II
Species: Harlequin rabbit

Dislikes: Loud noises, sharp things, anything he’s afraid of (which is a lot).
Elfheah always dreamed of being accepted into high society. As a middle-class nobleman, he has the potential to become a prestigious member of Lord Redstone’s Guild.
Desperate to fit in, Elfheah faces increasingly difficult decisions, torn between his conscience and the power-hungry schemes of the nobles. If only he was a fiercer, more stately animal than a timid, cowardly rabbit!
Felix Heartwood

Dislikes: Garden problems, leeches, digging, his sister being annoying
Felix is Amber’s “older” brother (he’s her twin but insists on claiming his extra 5 minutes in the world). Like a true sibling, he switches between being a caring and friendly brother and an irritating gremlin on a daily basis.
To his sister’s constant displeasure, he keeps the cryptic book passed down to him by their father strictly forbidden from her. Amber often wonders what Felix discovers in the Book, but it’s the one thing he keeps his mouth shut about.
Asher Greycloak

Likes: His hometown, naps, constellations, ale
Dislikes: Dull swords, rain, burrs, getting his tail caught in things
The son of Lord Aleksandru, Asher “Greycloak” is a shrewd young knight from the west of Stellalux. With deft fighting skills but also a kind heart, he poses the perfect idol for Philipp.
However, Asher is not like the knights from Philipp’s beloved tales of adventure—despite his noble name and admirable skills, he embraces his companions as friends, not inferiors.
Veronica Ælfwynn

Occupation: Archer
Likes: Archery, astronomy, illuminated manuscripts, tapestries
Dislikes: Socializing too much, talkative people, missing her targets, hot weather
Elegant, aloof, and alluring, Veronica is the only child of Lady Evangelia. From her exceptional archery skills to her extensive knowledge of astronomy, she has all the traits of a remarkable young lady. The only problem is she doesn’t talk much.
